The Master Painter
His palette posed above the parchment
Prepared by Him from before all eternity
To bear the wealth
Of His beauty
Dips His brush in the colours
Of His light
He begins to paint
Then, like the myriad of raindrop prisms
Join to form the oneness
Of a rainbow
So our vast emptiness
Stretched upon the frame
Of mere existence
Is transformed by the gentle caress
In the hues
Of His love
A love that becomes poor so that others might
be wealthy
And in so doing finds the greatest of all wealth
A love that bears affliction so that others might
be comforted
And in so doing finds the greatest of all comfort
A love that gladly becomes sick so that others might be healed
And in so doing experiences the greatest of
all healings
A love that will die so that others might live
And in so doing finds eternal life
Touches us
Again and
Again and
We are covered
We are complete
In Him
And the Mystery
Of which philosophers, holy men and artists
Have sought for millenia
Becomes a reality
Through the simple love
Of Jesus
Let Him paint your life
Let His Spirit be resurrected
Upon the canvas
Of your heart
So that Christ Himself will live
